Inspiration for Gotland
By using simple means, during a few bank holiday weekends, we at GRANIT transformed two little cottages to a "Granit oasis"! The bigger cottage has a kitchen, living room, small bedroom and an open fireplace. The smaller cottage just has one room for sleeping. We found these uncut diamonds between the islands pine tree and just on the beach. A challenge that went from being rather desolated to being idyllic!

The red cottage with white corners was repainted in a grey oil based paint. With simple means like paint, blinds, some work in the garden and a pillow or two gets the summer house the right feeling. Given the small size of the house we chose to work on a low height to create an illusion of the space as bigger.

Indoors we paint the walls in a light grey. To save space in the kitchen we make an extra working board that you can put-up in the doorway. Because of the size of the house we have just worked with a calm colour palette in both paint and furnishing. That gives the cottage a feeling of peace and quiet.

3.	You can still cook a lot of great food in a small kitchen!

4.	On a 2 meters long shelf we have pot all the things that a pantry can offer, in smart baskets with the contents written on the trim under.

5.	To create more space we have put nice pillows on the floor instead of the sofa and sawed of the legs on the table. The curtains had to go and we replaced them with bilnds. The lantern in the picture comes in black too.

6.	With pillows, blinds and new paint for the window frames we improve this cosy cottage!

7.	The little wardrobe goes out to make room for textile storage on a shelf.

8.	We paint both the walls and the ceiling in white. That makes the room feel bigger. We have put a pillar in to support the loft. With cosy textiles you will get an even more comfortable bed.

9.	"Doing the dishes corner" gets flooring and nice beach stones. The soap pump, olive soap, dish brush and lantern are all available in our stores. Detalj 1 \| Detalj 2 \| Detalj 3 You can also find the soap, brush, towels and salt lotion in a Granit store close to you!
